Josh Portrie
General Partner
Mr. Portrie attended the University of Florida in Gainesville from 1996-2000, where he studied finance and business administration. During his tenure in Gainesville, he had the opportunity of working with Infomation Publishing, a CMGI company. At Infomation, Mr. Portrie developed and maintained editorial content for business oriented online newspapers. He was responsible for updating and archiving content for inclusion in future electronic newsletters targeted at Fortune 500 companies. This opportunity laid the framework and awareness necessary to fully realize his entrepreneurial aptitude.
Formerly with Sherlock Financial Corporation, as CEO/President, Mr. Portrie managed the research, development and registration of a blue chip growth fund. In 1998, he coordinated all due diligence required to establish the company while managing the day to day operations of the fund. Mr. Portrie joined Sherlock Financial Corp. after experiencing success in the e-business practices of Date-Zone.com.
Mr. Portrie was the founder and CEO of Date-Zone.com, an e-business commercial website. He developed the content and coordinated the launch and ongoing management of this niche focused business to consumer web site. Mr. Portrie researched, negotiated, and contracted multiple e-commerce relationships with national vendors and suppliers maximizing resource allocation and efficiency while delivering customer-focused content to a target audience.
Mr. Portrie came to TPI in June of 2000, bringing a technical background and sense of vision while expanding the scope of the Technical Training Solutions Department. His responsibilities included management of quality control, resource allocation and standard operations and procedures for the Technical Training Solutions department and sales staff.
Mr. Portrie currently lives in the Jacksonville area serving the "The Computer Concierge" as General Partner and owner.
